Aims & Theoretical Framework

The goal is to effectively promote and examine the practice-based professional competencies (AK, RK) of prospective teachers in terms of quality development/constructive alignment.

… the provision of a modular online teaching-learning environment for the promotion and review of practice-related competencies (AC, RC) as well as the professional knowledge base (CK, PCK). Thereby, an explicit selection and promotion of "topic complexes / learning units / learning modules" such as "cognitive activation of the students" is made possible. The concept is based on the principles of constructive alignment and the curriculum-instruction-assessment-triad: didactically elaborated teaching-learning offers, systematic feedback, corresponding objective and valid test procedures (here: ELMaWi test instruments). In particular, the concept describes how individual components (e.g., video-based practice material or (self-)testing possibilities with feedback) can be used in a targeted manner to promote practical teaching competencies and which support measures are needed for university teachers in practice (e.g., didactic handouts). In addition, the potential of examining action-related competencies by means of the ELMaWi instruments will be demonstrated in order to provide suggestions for the further development of examination practice in the teaching office studies of the participating universities.

… the subject-specific implementation of the concept as an online learning environment for university teacher education in economics and mathematics using the ELMaWi tool to situate the support measures ("representations of teaching", Borko et al., 2011). Customized (self-)tests (basis: adapted ELMaWi instruments) allow for a high coverage and generalizability of the tool, which is necessary due to the heterogeneity of teacher education programs. Through an automated online feedback system from the ELMaWi project, students receive individualized feedback on their results after entering an anonymized code.

… the implementation of the online teaching-learning environment at the network sites. Criteria-driven reflection and optimization will take place, taking into account the site-specific conditions.

… documentation and publication of the online learning environment and transfer results as OER learning environment. Practical handouts are created based on the findings.
